Especially if I share a few photos like this -
Or this...
Or this...
Yeah, even I'd have trouble believing myself.
Truth is that in addition to some work, there was alot of sightseeing and playing!! I had a great time staying at Natalie and Andre van der Merwe's lovely place nestled in a valley full of vineyards!
And Natalie took me on some great trips around Cape Town, including a visit to a fantastic game farm..
A beautiful drive around the Cape...
and a very enjoyable day wine tasting!!
I can't thank my hosts and all the fantastic folks I meet in South Africa enough for the warm hospitality and generosity - but I will say it again -
Thank you!
Karen

So very jealous of the entire experience!
Your pictures are breathtaking!
Our friend MaxMom Caryl always shares her area's beauty and now THESE!
Of course, the adult grape juice is the most appealing!
Hey there Karen!
I'm so glad you got to see all those beautiful sites! As you know, we LOVE visitors to our country!
Did you know that little island in the distance in one of your photos, is called "Robben island"? (It is the Dutch word for "Seal" island) and was the place where our famous 'Madiba' - Nelson Mandela - spent all his time in prison.
Then again...I'm sure they told you that!
Thank you for sharing your time in our country. It's wonderful to see it through the eyes of another.
Sending lotsaluv
MAXMOM IN SOUTH AFRICA
I loved Capetown & the wine country (Stellenbosch?). So glad you got to experience the beauty of the country.
You took many beautiful pictures (as always!) & I'm so glad you shared them with us. I'm not sure if I'm more envious of your experience, or your talent with the camera!
MaxMom - Yup, I knew that was Robben Island - that is actually why I took the picture.
Annie - we had lunch at Stellenbosch but my favorite winery was Fairview - http://www.fairview.co.za/
Once again Karen is the master photographer. Is there ever a photo you don't take well? (well maybe a dog not posing ocrrectly!)
Grandness of nature and the beauty in the small things. Thanks Karen.
