A Better Vet Visit

Had to make another trip to the vet today. This visit went much better then the one last Monday.

Our handler, Mike, found a lump on Nahanni earlier in the week. When I went to take a look at it, I found a second, even bigger one - so off to the vet she went.

Our vet, Trevor, was not overly concerned about the lumps, but felt that one of them should come off and it made sense to take the second one off if she was under anyway. So that is what we did.

Bet, who was in to get a sore shoulder checked out, and I kicked around Westlock for an hour and a half and Nahanni was all ready to come home. Trevor said the lumps were not 'gnarly' looking, which is very good!

She is enjoying time in the house this evening - hanging out with Bet, Kara,
Bait, Tic (who knew she was cat-friendly) and us humans. She'll spend a few days living in the M.A.S.H. (Mommies and Sick Huskies) kennel off the back of the house before going back to her own kennel.

I also picked up Watt ashes today while at the vet. He moved in under my bed (What's Under Your Bed), along with his Dad, GrandDad, and many other old friends.
I still can't believe he is gone.

On a happier note, as I was driving to and from the Vet Clinic today I saw two big flocks of geese fleeing the country!! That always makes me smile!

Kara is going to claim HER house is getting overrun soon.

Glad Nahanni is sounding ok - like the diagnosis of "not gnarly."

I am glad Nahanni checked out ok, and also that the lumps were not gnarly. Did the vet say what they were?
I can see Kara telling everyone on her blog that she is giving up more and more of her rights. Having to share "The Cloud", the house, what next - sharing DenaStix? lol.

Out on our run this morning we also saw a few flocks of Canadian Geese heading south. I swear Spot, Celine and Ikkuma were all smiling as they flew over head. Ran 10 km's this morning and felt so good.

Hi,
I'm glad Nahanni is ok. I'd be interested in knowing what it was too. This must be the wk for lumps: my Cricket had one appear overnight and vet said it was a histiocytoma; they appear suddenly in dogs under 4 yrs old, are benign and disappear on their own in about 1-3 months. Of course it's where her harness hits so another "training" delay; just glad it's not dangerous!

One was likely a mammary tumor, the other just a fatty lump.
