Mark and I took the Rice Krispies for a walk this morning. Well, 'walk' is a bit of a misnomer, as the pups run everywhere they go.
Mark, Cricket and I (Bet was off duty this morning with a sore shoulder - nothing serious) did walk though.
The pups had a blast playing with sticks and killing small trees. There was one nasty head on collision (their brakes seem to be in need of work) but everyone walked away! Phew!!!

Cricket did a pretty nice job subing in for Bet. Although with Cricket a 'nice job' means she didn't eat anyone!

Love it!!! I have three & half month old Seppala Siberians and they are so much fun!!! I have four pups and they are littermates. Do you let your puppies free run or are they in a contained area?
Love reading your blog. . .
Snap looks so cute! Cricket looks like little puppies aren't his cup of tea. Like, "Go over there sleep and don't bother me."
Fun pictures, though
great photos. trying to do this blog thingy.
Yep, I agree, Cricket doesn't look nearly as tolerant of the toddler pups as much as Bet did. I guess I should cut her some slack since she did let the pups crawl all over her. Wonderful pictures, as always, Karen.
Must add another comment - my 4 year old daughter wanted to know whose puppies' pictures I was looking at and when I told her the red one's name (Pop), she began singing Pop Goes the Weasel. Pop is my favorite, too :)
Oh Karen, they are getting so grown up---I can't believe it. They all look great, that head on picture of Snap running makes her look like she could be in harness. Sorry girls, Pop's still my favorite.

Great pics. Nice looking pups. I like Crackle and Pop. Crackle sure has some nice reach in the front!
Been a very long time since we have had puppies around the house. The Rice Krispies are beautiful.
Did Bait twist Bet's shoulder? Grin
It is so nice to Cricket again. And the pups are just adorable. I'm glad the head-banging didn't do any serious damage. At least they were romping and having fun!
Aww! beautiful pups!
Vanessa,
Yes, those free running pup pictures are not in an enclosure at all. We free walk them till they start to take off on us, then I switch to free running them with a 4 wheeler. This spring I got myself a border collie with the hope that she can run with them and I can call her back, luring the pups to me to allow me to keep running them to an older age. We will see how it works. I do think the trick with this is starting young and being able to move faster than the pups – either on foot or with an ATV.
We do live in a very secluded area though. We have 160 acres of our own and surrounded by 5 times that in ‘green land’. There is a highway a mile from the house, but no dog has ever run in that direction if they get loose. Normally they just run back to the house and just hang out in the dog yard or around the house/garage.
I do work with all my dogs to make sure I can catch them if they get away from me. Most of the main string can be turned loose (two or three at a time) to come up to our hook up area when we run - and are turned loose after the run to go back to their stake out area!
I rarely push that off the property though, as any dog can have a ‘bad dog’ day and what can happen then could be awful! Much better safe than sorry!

Now that you have had Cricket for a good while, have you been able to determine what she might be a mix of besides G Pyr?
I love the pups, they look so athletic and fit- all the work done with them just pops into eye. How old are they at this moment?
They look beautiful!! Truely a promising trio of youngsters!
