Training has hit that stage where it is time to quit just zigging and zagging through the land right around our property and hit the roads to start racking up some more miles
I always love getting back on the trails that I spend so much of my fall and winters on each year!!!
But running roads and ditches does come with it own issues...
..like the road killed porcupine carcass that we ran over today. There was a bit of a break in the run while Brittany and I pulled quills out of the tongues, roof of mouths, throats and paws of See, Meg, Snap, Crackle, Wonder, Kelly, Beauty and Billie.
When we got home Mark gave us a hand with on nasty one that was deep in one of Wonder's toes and a small one deep in Snap's tongue.
Think we got them all now - although we will keep an extra close eye on everyone for the next while.
Damn porcupines.

Oooohhh! Those porcupines are a nuisance! Please give Billie some extra lovin's from her sponsor mom!
There's a recipe for softening the quils by using a paste of baking soda and (believe it or not) white vinegar. It makes them easier to pull out. Targo did that one time in North Pole.
