I figured as site editor I would save others some time by keeping an ongoing log of Karen's status throughout the race. I would like to record the top teams at any given check along with the status of Karen and her close friend Jamie Nelson. Here are the Status Checks as viewed from Cabela's Iditarod - Mushers - Current Order
Trail details are available on Cabela's Iditarod site or on the Ultimate Iditarod for Dummies website (clickable checkpoints).
(Northern Route - The approximate distance for the 2006 trail is 1112 miles, although it is always "officially" referred to as 1049 miles in honor of Alaska, being the 49th state to enter into the Union. The exact distance varies each year, due to variations caused by seasonal conditions.)

Their feet must be doing much better as there are only
about a nine or so booties visible on the entire team.
