At first I thought it was the cats, who are annoyed about their limited house time and trying everything in their furry little powers to get my attention, but a glance outside showed them both still around the back door looking pathetic.
I threw on shoes and a jacket and headed down to see what the commotion was about.
"It's that way", said Skookum
I looked that way and saw Cricket...
If you look in the trees on the left of the photo, you will see what the fuss was about.
I called Cricket over and insisted she get on the trail behind me as I walked closer to suggest the visitor 'move on'. She was less then impressed with me, muttering about how intruders are her responsibility
We were closer then we likely should have been when the beast finally decided enough was enough and got underway in a huge hurry!
Sorry about the fuzzy image. I was torn between getting the picture and getting out of there. |
"Come back soon!", says Snert!

Actually, the "blurry" pic of the moose is great! Good action shot! That Pyr is plenty gutsy. I had no idea moose were such a huge danger until I read "Winterdance" by Gary Paulsen. (Was it Susan Butcher who had to fight one off her team with an axe???). I'd be outta there...
Even the PA whitetails occasionally fight back. So much for Bambi's image.
