Now, a Word From Karen Herself
Hey all, I'm back in Willow. My hand is looking 200% better then it did 2 days ago when the PA in McGrath checked it out. Speculation was that it was going to have to be reopened, flushed, cleaned and restitched. I'm hoping that that isn't the case but we will see in a few days. As always thanks to everyone for their tremendous support and understanding!

Karen,
It is so good to hear that you are okay! Thanks for keeping all of us up to date on how you are doing. I am continually amazed by your strength and perseverance.
Glad your hand is better. All of us over at BSSd were worried about you.
After seeing the picture of your hand I was amazed you were able to start and go as far as you did. There is another year but not another hand. So glad you are safe and getting the treatment you need.
With an injury that bad to begin with, I can't imagine the pain you were in within the first hours of starting Iditarod. The movement of the sled not to mention looking after the dogs and yourself must have been unbearably uncomfortable. Good for you for keeping that promise about looking after yourself better Karen. There's always next year.
Karen,
Ever since we saw KitKat's pups we have been following you. We are pleased that your feeling better and will be home soon with all of your kids.
Hey Karen! The Eagle Pack crew was worried about you, so I'm glad to hear you are healing and feeling better! It was so fun meeting you and Mark and all your sweet pups! Dr. Al is the luckiest man in the world to have been at the last 20 Iditarod's with you all! Hope I get to see you next year!
