Training is going quite well this year. I even been using alot of trails that I haven't used in years!
Yesterday Mark and I decided to run through the town of Rochester on our travels.
I had forgotten how much I like this trip!!
It's a beautiful way to come into town.
Rochester is a really quaint place.
We rolled through the lovely park on the edge of town, onto the highway and then up out of the valley.
As it has been a long time since we have been to town by dog team, there was alot of staring as we cut through!!!
We traveled the old highway and then finally dropped back down into Perryvale.
No one in Perryvale stares at dog teams in Perryvale - they are a pretty regular sight there!
The building on the right is the Perryvale Community Center, where the Annual Turkey Shoot (no, they don't shoot turkeys - it's target shooting with frozen turkeys as prizes) happened last night, and the building with the blue roof is the Perryvale Country Store/Post Office.
There is also a cute little church...
...plus an old school that is now home of a local honey producer and a nice little park across from the store, but I didn't think to take pictures of them. Sorry!
And that's it! That's Perryvale!
We crossed the Tawatinaw heading towards the cemetery and the 'Waste Disposal station' and headed towards home!

Two questions -
Right in front of your wheel dogs, someone is running solo. Who is it? Is there a reason? (Ok, that is two questions, but I sort of meant two different types of questions.)
Noticed that Rochester road was paved. How much running on pavement do you allow? Any special care you take?

That's Turtle on his own. He was originally slated to run with his Dad, Crunchie, but Crunch requested a day off (and Crunch usually gets what he wants).
No, there is nothing wrong with Crunch - no fear!
Just one highway into town is paved and we just ran a few hundred feet on it. I've run longer on pavement and wouldn't take special precautions unless it was many miles and I was doing it on a regular basis!
